Atlanta, January 25, 2017: Global packaging company Sonoco Products Company will invest $20 million to build a new state-of-the-art packaging center in the city of Fairburn in Fulton County, bringing hundreds of jobs.
The facility will support battery-packaging for Duracell, and will be co-located in leased space in Fairburn. In total, the facility will bring more than 500 jobs, including 130 full-time and 465 part-time positions. Select Fulton partnered with the Georgia Department of Economic Development as well as Quick Start, Georgia Power and Avison Young, to bring this project to Fulton County.
Fulton County Chairman John H. Eaves congratulated the Sonoco Products Company on their growth in Fulton County. “We are pleased that Sonoco will be joining the growing list of top-notch global companies that call Fulton County home,” said Eaves. “We are also pleased that Select Fulton continues to partner with our 14 cities to attract great job opportunities across this county.”
